General Information / Field Modification
STEP 1:
If the electrical outlet box has not been installed so it extends from
the wall the same dimensions as the finished wall panel, an extender
sleeve should be used to extend the outlet box flush with the panel
face.
STEP 2:
Position the panel on the wall at desired installation location . Apply
pressure to the face of the panel to allow the outlet to make a slight
indentation in the back of the panel. Coating the edges of the outlet
box with chalk will also transfer the outlet location to the back of the
panel.
An additional 1"
clearance at the bottom of any cut-out is required when using Z Clip
mounting to allow installation or removal of the panel.
STEP 3:
After transferring the outlet location to the panel, turn the panel onto
its face. Carefully drill (4)-four pilot holes, one in each corner
location of the outlet, through the core material. Be careful to not
tear into the covering.
STEP 4:
The pilot
hole location will serve as a cutting guide to remove the covering. Turn
the panel onto its back. Locate the pilot holes through the covering.
CAREFULLY cut out an "X" between the pilot holes using a very sharp
utility knife. Then peel the covering slightly beyond the amount needed
to allow removal of the core material without damage to the covering.
STEP 5:
Using a keyhole or saber saw, CAREFULLY cut away the core material. Make
a cutout slightly larger than the outlet to allow for fabric wrap. Be
certain that the saw does not contact or tear the covering.
STEP 6:
Apply contact adhesive around cut-out area. Wrap the covering over the
cut edges of the electrical outlet opening.
STEP 7:
Install
panel to wall and install the outlet faceplate.
